Do You Trust God or the Universe?

Recently I was asked a question that went something like this, “Where do you feel that you are not supported by the Universe in your life?” Of course I had to take pause because I have a deep belief that God, as I prefer to call “The Universe”, does support me.

God,  just seems more personal….more reachable to me than “The Universe”.  I mean how does one actually have a personal relationship with “The Universe”?  When faced with a challenging issue do we say, ” Wait, let me talk to my friend, “The Universe” and see what they have to say”?  Why all the contraction on the word God? Is it really because we don’t have the skills to move past our childhood wounds around an intimidating  father figure so we project that on to God? It’s like God, and even Jesus, have gotten a bad rap in the New Age.  It’s all cool to wear Buddha plastered on our bellies or the  rear bumpers of our cars, name smoothies and chocolate bars after him, but to openly express your love of J.C. and watch out, you’ve just opened yourself up to all sorts of uncool projections and judgments! Don’t believe me? Next time you go into a cafe’ try asking if they serve Jesus smoothies and just watch the looks you’ll get.

So, if you are ever asked the question if you believe that you are supported by “the Universe”, God or life and rush to  the spiritually evolved answer of, “Yes, I believe in a supportive Universe and that I co-create my own reality, blah blah blah….” Let me ask you, if you believe that The Universe, Spirit or plain ol’ God supports your dreams, then why aren’t you living your wildest ones right NOW!?

Jesus is just alright with me,

Laura
