5 FALL FAVORITES FOR YOUR HOME

Whether you’ve already dressed your home in pumpkins and mums from head-to-toe, or you’re still holding out for those cooler temps to decorate (like me), here are five of my favorite items to decorate with as autumn greets your door.

Fall Florals

Dried Florals

Dried flowers are a wonderful way to add seasonal color and texture to your space, without any upkeep. Some of my favorites include dried baby’s breath, pampas grass, hydrangeas, Queen Anne’s lace, star flowers, red eucalyptus, and tallow berries.

fall candles

Taper Candles

Candles have the ability to elevate the mood of a room. I love taper candles because they can quickly travel between formal & casual, depending on how they are displayed. Consider swapping out your bright white tapers for a warmer tone of ivory, tan or brown this season. Williams Sonoma has a great starter set for fall, and I have a few sets from Root that I have loved using throughout the year.

dried gourds

Dried Gourds

Let me start by saying that I love a classic pumpkin. I will continue to decorate with pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colors, BUT, when I first stumbled upon a dried gourd, my heart skipped a beat. It was different and funky and $3 a piece at the antique store. So I sent myself home with a full box and I’ve been loving them ever since.

pear decor

Pears

Edible decor is one of the most satisfying styling choices you can make. Is there a better blend of form and function? I love bosc pears in particular for their color and shape. They are the perfect addition to your kitchen and to your charcuterie board!

vintage books

Vintage Books

Vintage books are a classic and timeless choice for decorating in your home. They add texture, tone, and interest to any display. I love using them in the fall because of the autumn color palette that they naturally posess. In addition, they transfer well between Halloween decor and fall/Thanksgiving decor.

3 Additional, Seasonal Swap Suggestions:

  • Swap out clear glass jars for ambered glass

  • Swap out your pillow covers & throws to ones with fall tones & textures

  • Swap out some of your full color family photos for black-and-whites

Happy Decorating!
